The Lodge At River Valley
The Lodge at River Valley is a members only fly fishing club situated along 2 miles of the Musconetcong River in Asbury, New Jersey. Just over an hour from downtown Manhattan, our members routinely catch brown, rainbow, and brook trout - one of the rare fisheries where all three species can be found together. We also host multiple clay pigeon and wing shooting events on the property, as well as world class dining and lodging.
Water Temperature and River Height
As we get into the warmer months of July, August, and early September, it's important to monitor the river temperature before fishing. Trout have a high rate of mortality if played and released in water above 70 degrees fahrenheit, or 21 degrees celsius. A combination of river height, dam releases, and weather all play a factor in this temperature. Luckily for us, the Musconetcong Watershed Association just installed some river gages which keep track of river temperature. Check the link below, and don't fish if the water temperature is above 21 degrees.
